Tuesday Tunes!

If you haven't jumped on the India Arie Fan Train, please consider it. She's brilliant and beautiful and her music is rich in meaning and full of love and promise and hope. She's a little soul, a touch blues, some folk and pop and her own sound. I have been a fan for years and have 3 of her 4 albums ... looks like I need to get that 4th. My Man actually introduced me to her music about seven years ago. He always has had good taste. :)

(BLACK) Friday Fun: Photos That Make Me Happy

No, I don't do Black Friday ... I am not that crazy.  I just don't get the idea of standing in the cold (or being really nutty and camping in the cold) and having to fight through other crazy people to get something that is half price.  You might lose a leg, get arrested for punching out a crazy chick, but hey, you got that awesome find and saved yourself some money.  Nope, not for me.  Besides after my crazy evening with my crazy loved ones, I don't need anymore crazy.

One of my favorite pictures ever of my beautiful Mom
(don't mind the two cases of beer in the back, just remember my crazy family)

Remember the little brother who rocked the pipes, it was meant to be obviously

Me and my awesome cousin

My awesome brother, gotta love him!

Another reason why growing up was so fun, the bff and I

Before she grew up and went through all my crap, my little munchkin sister was this cute!

And grew up to be this hot and my best friend

All About Me In 30 Days - Day 4 - Favorite Book

Book nerd alert!  I love books!  I love the library and was actually a little miffed when the card catalog went to computers.  I love browsing in book stores and have a club card for the two major ones here in my neck of the woods.  I love the smell of books.  If I could live in a book, I would!  And I don't discriminate on what book, I love 'em all.  I most certainly had a book in my hand when I took my first step.  My favorite author of all time is Dean Koontz.  I think I read my first DK novel when I was just a teeny-bopper with pimples and brown, frizzy hair.  Here's a few of my faves from Mr. Koontz:

And big surprise here, the Twilight Series were added to my collection over the last two years.  I read them all in about two weeks and have read Eclipse and Breaking Dawn three times each.  I am anxiously waiting for the release of the movie, both parts, of Breaking Dawn, but I promise I don't throw things at my television in anticipation or cry when I see any of the actors.
This year, I have added more books to my collection and was quite pleased with them all:

And I do have a wish list, must have SOON!

All About Me In 30 Days - Day 2 - Favorite Movie

Again, tough one!  I am a HUGE movie and TV fan, remember the "need to lose weight" motto?  Yep, spend a lot of time IN FRONT of the screen.  Luckily my wonderful Mom recently purchased me a treadmill so I can DO SOMETHING while I get my Netflix on! My list for a FAVORITE movie is probably just as long as a favorite song list.

The movie I have loved the longest: Grease.
Favorite chick flick movie: Sex and the City
Childhood movie: Labyrinth
Romantic movie: Serendipity
Favorite tear jerker: Everybody's Fine
...and Crash

Feel good favorites: The Pursuit of Happyness

And my 80's favorite: Can't Buy Me Love
Most recent favorite: Dan in Real Life

Also almost every Disney movie every made, need something for the kids, right?  And I love a classic holiday film!  I am a sucker for a good movie.
